Jamaica Tallawahs v Barbados Royals Betting Odds

We’re going to give you the best free cricket betting tips on this game, plus of course today’s CPL odds on it.

Barbados have made a poor start to the season but I think they can bite back at some really good odds and secure the first win of the season.

And I also like a superstar T20 bowler to be his team’s top wicket-taker.

Jamaica Tallawahs Warriors Team News

Jamaica got off to the best possible start after a superb batting display that swa them get to 255/5.

There were three key elements to their excellent total. The first was that there wasn’t just one good contribution but rather five good knocks, with all those five scoring 38 or more: 47, 48, 45, 38 and 50.

The second was the strike rate. Those five players struck at 162, 228, 140, 146 and 357.

Notice that strike rate of 357? Yes, that would be the absurdly brutal 50 off 14 by superstar T20 man Andre Russell. It was the fastest fifty in CPL history.

Defending the total was never going to be that difficult given the sheer size of it.

But Migael Pretorius (four wickets) and Imran Khan (three wickets) made the most of the situation to shine with the ball.

They’re unlikely to go all the way in the CPL because the team doesn’t look as well-balanced but they’ve shown what they can do on their day.

Likely XI: Walton, Lewis, Ali, Powell, Russell, Brathwaite, Pretorius, Brookes, Green, Vermaul, Khan.

Barbados Royals Team News

This could be a long old season for the Barbados Royals.

They lost two out of two so far and are looking a shadow of the side who somewhat surprisingly won the CPL back in 2019.

Against Trinbago on Friday they not only collapsed to just 122 on what wasn’t as bad a pitch as the total suggests but failed to capitalise on what was a good start with the ball, allowing a partnership between Dinesh Ramdin and Kieron Pollard to get home easily.

The funny thing is the side doesn’t look that bad, But one of the problems is the batting order.

There’s absolutely no plausible reason as to why skipper Holder promoted himself up the order to number three.

Why as an all-rounder, is he batting ahead of Shai Hope and Azam Khan, two proper batsmen?

Yeah, we don’t know either.

On a more positive note, Mohamamad Amir was excellent. He took 3-21, with all those wickets in the Powerplay.

Likely XI: Phillips, Charles, Hope, Khan, Mayers, Holder, Perera, Nurse, Walsh, Amir, Thomas.

Venue & conditions

Warner Park is becoming extremely hard to work out.

Here are the scores of the side batting first in the matches played so far: 142, 175, 255, 122. As you can see, they’re all over the place.

That’s an average of 172.5, by the way.

Want some good T20 betting advice? Don’t bet on the innings runs market for the time being because it’s currently virtually impossible to work out what teams may get.

So far, three of the four matches have been won by the team batting first

Jamaica Tallawahs v Barbados Royals Head-to-Head

Things couldn’t be tighter between these two over the years.

It’s eight wins for Jamaica and seven for Barbados. The other match out of the 16 they’ve played against each other?

It was a no-result.

Jamaica Tallawahs v Barbados Royals Toss Prediction

Shall we talk about toss winner statistics? Let’s do it. Again, these two simply can’t be split. It’s eight wins each, more proof that things are tight between these two very time they meet.

But Holder is generally good/lucky at the toss so we’ll go with Barbados.

Recommended Bet: Back Barbados Royals to win @ 2.26 with 10 CRIC

Despite two poor performances, I actually don’t think Barbados are as bad as they seem.

Amir is a T20 superstar, Hayden Walsh is the Windies’ first choice spinner in while ball cricket, Holder is a world-class bowling all-rounder who used to skipper the Windies in all formats and the likes of Ashley Nurse and Thisara Perera are very capable, as well.

Their batting isn’t bad on paper, it just hasn’t clicked.

And though Jamaica were highly impressive in their first game, they’ve hardly been consistent over the past few years.

As ever with betting, it’s all about the odds.

If it’s pretty close (and don’t forget that head-to-head) between two teams and one has much bigger odds than the other (2.26 plays 1.57) then we obviously go with the outsider.

Jamaica Tallawahs v Barbados Royals Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: Back Mohammad Amir to be Barbados Top Bowler @ 4.25 with Betway.

That man Mohammad Amir was unplayable last match and is clearly in excellent form now that he’s quit international cricket and can just focussed on being the best he can in T20 leagues.

Last time out he took three wickets when the rest of the team only managed one more between them.

One of the big factors when betting on top bowler betting is that your man always bowls his four overs and hat’s certainly the case here.

Given his class and everything else, the 4.25 on him isn’t a bad price at all.
