Netherlands vs England Betting Winner Prediction

Recommended Bet: Back England to win @ 1.06 with Parimatch.

In terms of the match winner, there really is only one winner!

England may only be available at odds of 1.06 but it’s virtually impossible to make a case for the Netherlands.

They’re 3-0 down to England over the years, have lost 13 of their last 14 at this venue and are fresh from losing 3-0 to the West Indies, a considerably weaker side than England in ODIs.

8.4 may look quite big for a team in an ODI but don’t be fooled; this would rank as one of ODI cricket’s biggest upsets if it were to happen so be sensible and go with England if you’re playing this market.

Here’s our Parimatch review, by the way. It gives you all the info you know about one of India’s best-loved cricket betting sites.

Netherlands vs England Betting Hot Bet

Recommended Bet: Back Dawid Malan to be England Top Batsman @ 4.75 with Betway

Playing a top batsman betting market in a game like this is different to the norm of what we talk about in our top batsman betting guide.

It’s certainly not inconceivable that England only lose two or three wickets if they bat first with one of the openers hanging around a long time and getting a big score and not giving most of the others a chance.

Or alternatively, that England only need to chase just over 200, meaning the same theory applies.

So a top order player is what’s needed and Dawid Malan, who will open or bat at three, fits the bill.

He hasn’t had too many chances in ODI cricket so will be keen to get a big score here and impress the management, rather than playing a dazzling cameo.

And at 4.75, he’s a considerably bigger price than rival Jason Roy, who is just 3.75.

Netherlands vs England Head-to-Head

Time to look at the Netherlands vs England head-to-head record.

These two have only ever played each other three times in the ODI format.

Hardly surprising given that Netherlands are an associate team who generally play the likes of Afghanistan, Scotland, Ireland and Zimbabwe, rather than the big Test nations.

And the last time they played each other was all the way back in 2011 at the World Cup in India.

Unsurprisingly, England have won all three of their ODI matches against the Netherlands.

Venue & conditions

The VRA Ground in Amstelveen has been used for ODI cricket since 1999.

Sadly for fans of the Netherlands, it hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for them.

They’ve won just one of their last 14 ODIs here though that’s more of a reflection of how the Netherlands have struggled in general, rather than that being down to this particular ground.

The one team they beat in that period was Nepal, back in 2018.

But in that period they also lost to the likes of Nepal, Ireland and Scotland.

It was also here that they recently lost three games in a row against the West Indies just a couple of weeks ago.

The West Indies successfully chased 247 in the 2nd ODI, 215 in the 2nd ODI and then defended 309 in the third game.

West Indies got over 300 in the one and only time they batted first and you’d expect that to be a bare minimum for England on the first innings runs market if Eoin Morgan’s side bat first.

But England have a strong bowling line-up and if it’s the Netherlands who get to bat first, they might struggle to get to 220.
